I Am

Brian Kluepfel

Writer and Editor

Brian Kluepfel

Words are my life and I’m manic about their proper usage.   I’ve been called all these things:  travel writer, technical writer, editor, proofreader, and journalist.  I speak English and Español.  You will find me lurking in bookstores and libraries everywhere I go.

You will find some of my titles at your favorite online or (gasp) brick-and-mortar bookshop, and at public libraries everywhere. Generally in the darkest corner.

Portfolio

Writing and Editing

From 400-word short newspaper articles to 400-page laboratory user manuals, I've seen, done and written it all (or almost all). More than 50 publications attest to my wide-ranging interests and ability to soak up information. From chocolate-making to diabetes testing, discovering things is never boring: writing about them is even better!

Travel Writing

Lonely Planet, Fodor's, Frontier Air, Nevada Magazine . Across the Americas I've authored more than 30 travel projects, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Bolivia, Venezuela, Chile, Peru even New Jersey and Connecticut!. My bilingual skills and nonstop quest for adventure and new places have combined to produce some of the world's guidebooks and most-frequented websites.

Magazine and Newpapers

International 'zines like Guitar World, Guitar Player, and Birdwatching rely on my zeal for music and birding. Fashion-forward pubs like Silicon Valley Home and Westchester Home lean on my expertise in wordcrafting home-design articles for their high-end audiences.

Newsletters

I've edited the Saw Mill River Audubon's newsletter for the past five years.

Blogs

Birdmanwalking, Brian Birdwatching, and VZbaseball explore my obsession with birds and baseball.

Ghostwriting and Editing

I’ve authored statements for mixed media artists Victoria Kovalachenko and Olga Kosheleva to help them make a splash at international showings.

Technical Writing

15 years as a technical writer/proofreader in software, avionics, medical fields including multimillion-dollar clients like Siemens Healthcare and Sybase.

Content for Websites

Content development for small businesses involved in landscaping, accounting, and home improvement. I give them the right words to sell to their clients.
