I’ve been a writer since I can remember, and it’s a vocation that has taken me around the world and given me immeasurable joy. Over two decades I’ve written travel guides for Lonely Planet, and Fodor’s gone to guitar workshops on Maui for Acoustic Guitar, edited an English-Language newsletter in La Paz, Bolivia, and covered the World Cup and Copa America soccer tournaments. In addition, my children’s book, Anatoly of the Gomdars, has been adopted by more than 50 accelerated reading programs in the United States.
My twin passions, music and the environment, have been reflected in regular columns on birding for the Examiner News in Westchester, NY and on the arts for the Contra Costa Times in Northern California. I edit the On the Wing newsletter for the Saw Mill River Audubon, our local chapter of the national organization.
Who could ask for a better gig.
