Footballer Gavin Glinton has seen a lot of the world in his 23 years. Born on Grand Turk in 1979, he moved with his family to California at the age of two, and grew up in the hot, dry Livermore Valley area just east of San Francisco. A college career at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois attuned him to cold climes, and that was good, because he then had short professional trials in Belgium and Scotland.
This season finds the youngster settled in Burbank, California and playing for the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer. On a team of seasoned professionals, including a touch of Caribbean seasoning, Gavin has fit right in, making contributions on and off the field to a team that may win two Cup championships before the year is over.
